INDIA TRIP | 2022
Hi Friends and family!
I hope you are doing well and that you have been encountering Jesus in the small everyday life things. Here’s an update on what life has looked like recently for me…
– I live in Indianapolis with two of my college friends, Nicole and Jubilee. Right across the pond, we have our neighbors, Andrew, Jacob and Bradon. Together daily life looks very similar to the t.v. show series, “Friends” and it’s always an adventure.
– I work in a coffee shop here in Indy doing marketing and events. I’ve worked with the company for a year now, and it’s been fun watching it grow. This job was my first job after school, but I originally started as a barista.
– I also run a photography business on the weekends, shooting a bunch of portrait/lifestyle photos and specialize in weddings. It’s been a joy growing in a passion that I’ve had forever. Taking photos has taken me on many adventures all over this country and I can’t wait to see what new adventures lie ahead.
Speaking of new adventures unfolding… I’m going to India in a month. Kind of crazy, yes but the passage where Jesus delivered The Great Commission has recently been finding itself close to my heart. We are quickly approaching the departure date and, as with most things, it doesn’t feel real (and probably won’t until I’m landing in India) but with the Lord’s guidance, our team plans to share the gospel with Hindu people by telling Bible stories through a translator. We’ll be located in the northern part of India; a region with the largest concentration of unreached people groups in the entire world. I’ve been praying that God works through every personal interaction, both ways. I pray that we would be able to share with the people, but also that we would just learn and encounter the beauty of the Indian culture while we are there.
Obviously, as the trip rolls closer, there are a multitude of factors we have to consider before heading out. If you would like to help our team prior to the trip there are a few ways to do so.
Prayer: Please pray for reliance on the Holy Spirit. That opportunities for Gospel-centered conversations come up and hearts are open to hearing the message.
Pray for safety and energy as we travel to a new country.
Pray for God to change our hearts and keep us open-minded and humble.
Financially: if you would like to make a financial contribution to the trip you can click here or use this link!:

This trip will be a truly life-changing experience! I’m unsure how much access we’ll have to the internet and contacting people back home, however as best I can, I plan to capture the stories of our time in India, whether written or visually. San diego | NArrative 2021
What a time Sunny California was! It was towards the end of November, just the right time people started wishing it was summer again, with the holidays creeping around the corner, I thought why not go on a lil trip to the other side of the globe where I’d live and learn from a bunch of strangers?!??
If that doesn’t somewhat create a slight tint of anxiety within you, you’re probably lying to yourself…
I boarded the plane and stepped off into SoCal, where I found my ride with a bunch of soon-to-be new besties. Together we were going to get some killer destination wedding & destination elopement photos!
Flyin’ down the carpool lanes we soon arrived at our cute lil Airbnb. Here she is…
Narrative was a retreat for photographers, led by photographers. The days were full of all types of shoots, stylized elopments, fun playful engagement photos, destination wedding locations. You name it, we probably did it. We learned a lot that week. From technical skills, to marketing & website building, to artistic skills to brand development and mission statements.
We did an engagement shoot in the neighborhood of San Diego which honestly, was my VIBE! Straight up, this looks so fun because it was so fun! Brooklyn and Bobby were so goofy and down to earth, taking their photos was just a bonus to watching them hang out with one another.
We did some stylized shoots down by sunset cliffs and shooooooot they looked so good. We had a dress from bhldn and floraandlane (You heckin’ know it’s a fancy day when these are the dresses used!) There were so many of us that people standing around thought it was an actual ceremony and would start clapping. Could you imagine hiring like 10 photographers for your wedding? I’m sure people have done it before.
Anyways, our styled shoots on the cliffs were our last outting. It was a beautiful day that ended with homemade pizza which is a 100% win in my book!
I went on this trip to learn, grow and build some skills in order to better serve my friends and clients. I knew it would be kind of intimidating jumping into the unknown, and that scared me, which made me want to almost do it even more in order to grow. I have never traveled by myself so that was huge for me. I’m checking it off the bucket list I suppose now. Part of growing up is doing things that intimidate you, going out of your comfort zone. I found a great community of photographers who share the same love and passions I do, which is so priceless to me. I found friends who would boost me up on rough photo days and who would be willing to step in as second shooters. I have been so blessed with this trip and I am so glad it also carries over to those who have put their trust in me to shoot their 2022 weddings.
